Apple’s new M5 chip delivers up to 3.5× faster AI performance and 24-hour battery life for iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro.
Apple Unveils M5 Chip, Beginning AI-First Revolution Across Products
Apple has formally declared the latest silicon design work — the M5 chip — the beginning of AI-first computing across its product lineup. The new chip is powering humongous performance and efficiency gains in the iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro headset.

At the core of M5 is Apple’s fastest neural engine yet, delivering up to 3.5 times the AI performance of the last generation. That capability means more seamless multitasking, quicker creative workflows, and more advanced on-device intelligence — all while still able to draw out an incredible 24 hours of battery life from the iPad Pro.
Beyond mere performance, Apple is focusing on comfort and integration. The Vision Pro is accompanied by the reengineered Dual Knit Band for a better fit but retains its initial $3,499 price. Meanwhile, MacBook Pro models based on the M5 Chip assure up to 5.6 times the performance in some demanding tasks, dissolving the boundary between laptop and desktop computing.

Industry observers view the M5 Chip as more than a repeat — it’s Apple’s strongest indication yet that its future is going to be heavily driven by AI-tuned hardware and software hand in gloved.
