Ever since childhood, Akanksha Mishra was fascinated by courtroom dramas she saw in movies. The way lawyers argued with passion, the way judges listened intently, and the power of words to shape justice—all of it had a magnetic pull on her. What intrigued her wasn’t just the theatrics, but the idea that an individual, armed only with knowledge and articulation, could influence outcomes and touch lives. That early spark grew into a lifelong pursuit of law.
The Foundation: Law School and Higher Studies
Akanksha pursued her law degree from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, one of India’s premier institutions. Those five years were transformative, not just academically but personally. They helped her find her voice, shape her values, and understand law as a tool of empowerment.
Her passion for constitutional law deepened, leading her to pursue an LL.M. in Constitutional Law, where she graduated with a Gold Medal. For her, the recognition was not just a medal, but validation of her dedication to a field she deeply believed in.
The Litigator’s Life
Following law school, Akanksha entered litigation. For five years, she represented clients, drafted arguments, and spent long hours in courtrooms. She contributed to significant judgments in India during this period.
But over time, she realized that litigation, while intellectually rewarding, demanded a lifestyle of constant uncertainty and solitary grind. She admired independent advocates who built thriving practices, but she herself longed for a more collaborative and sustainable impact—one that connected with her parallel passion: education.
A Parallel Passion: Education and Social Impact
Her interest in education had always been strong. Even as a student, she believed that learning should be a right, not a privilege. This conviction led her to found an NGO supporting the education of underprivileged children. The initiative gave her perspective, humility, and a deeper sense of purpose.
It became increasingly clear to her that she wanted to be more than a lawyer—she wanted to be an educator, mentor, and bridge between knowledge and opportunity.
Joining Lawctopus Law School
This clarity led Akanksha to Lawctopus Law School (LLS), where she joined as a Manager and Faculty for the Contract Drafting course. Her role allowed her to combine legal expertise with her love for teaching.
Within three months, she rose to a larger responsibility as Head of Lawctopus Law School, managing growth, operations, and building an ecosystem of practical legal education for students and professionals alike.
By 2024, she reached a new milestone—appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lawctopus Law School. Today, she oversees course development, team management, marketing and sales, university partnerships, and continues teaching learners across India.
Teaching and Mentorship
One of her biggest joys has been teaching Contract Drafting. She has taught over 3,500–4,000 learners, ranging from students to seasoned professionals. The feedback has been consistently outstanding, with courses receiving an average rating of 96/100 (9.6/10).
For her, these numbers reflect more than success—they represent the trust and value learners find in her teaching.
Recognition and Milestones
In 2024, Akanksha was honoured with the Business World Legal 30 Under 30 Award. The recognition validated not only her personal journey but also the importance of alternative legal careers beyond litigation and corporate jobs.
Beyond Formal Teaching: Simplifying Law
Akanksha is also passionate about making law accessible to the wider public. Through Instagram reels and short-form content, she simplifies complex legal concepts, trending issues, and new laws for everyday understanding.
Her belief is clear: a legally literate society is an empowered one. If her content can make the law more approachable and less intimidating, she considers it a success.
Looking Ahead
Reflecting on her journey—from a child captivated by courtroom dramas, to a gold medalist in constitutional law, to a litigator, and now CEO and educator—Akanksha remains deeply grateful.
Her vision is to scale practical, affordable, and impactful legal education in India. She wants Lawctopus Law School to be a place where learners at every stage—students, young professionals, or senior practitioners—can access mentorship and resources to thrive.
At the same time, she continues to work on bridging law and society through her NGO, her teaching, and her digital content.
“The courtroom may have been her first love, but today her mission lies in classrooms, online learning spaces, and every interaction where she can help someone understand and apply the law better.”
That, to her, is the true power of being a lawyer.
