The rendezvous, held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in the capital, brought together esteemed personalities from the gaming community, including Payal Dhare, Mithilesh Patankar, Animesh Agarwal, Naman Mathur, Anshu Bisht, and others.

During the exchange, PM Modi championed the burgeoning esports sector, advocating for its unimpeded growth within a structured and lawful framework to bolster job creation. He emphasized the pivotal role of gamers in shaping the digital content landscape and underscored the need to comprehend the nuances of the gaming realm while tailoring them to national imperatives.

Highlighting the remarkable upsurge witnessed in India’s gaming sector in the fiscal year 2023, with revenues scaling up to $3.1 billion, PM Modi emphasized the industry’s robust growth trajectory and the vast audience it encompasses, surpassing 500 million enthusiasts.

Bestowed with the moniker ‘NaMo OP’ in the livestream gaming realm, PM Modi was lauded by creators as the foremost influencer and the epitome of coolness in the country. Embracing PM Modi’s vision of harnessing creativity in skill-based gaming, creators echoed the sentiment that the time is ripe to propel gaming to new heights, inspiring others in the process.

Animesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO of 8Bit Creatives and Co-Founder of S8UL, shared his perspective on the dialogue, expressing honor at discussing the rapid rise of esports with PM Modi. Naman ‘Mortal’ Mathur, Co-founder & CMO of 8Bit Creatives and co-founder of S8UL, described the experience as surreal, emphasizing the significance of the moment for gaming and esports in India.

Female gamer Payal Dhare reflected on the interaction, highlighting PM Modi’s vision for game development around Indian culture and environmental issues. Lokesh ‘Goldy’ Jain, Co-founder of 8Bit Creatives, expressed pride in the outcome of the dialogue and aligned with PM Modi’s vision for the gaming industry.
