Africa Series – Welcoming UTY David as the New Face/Anchor for African Series

Date:

With honor and gratitude, we welcome Uty David from Africa as our new collaborator and the new face/anchor who will bring Africa’s powerful stories to the world. We are so grateful to have you, Sir, and we are sure this collaboration will usher in a soothing revolution.

We were so pleased to interview Mr. Uty David and to acknowledge his passion for serving as an anchor representing his country on our platform. During an interview, we asked him a few questions, to which he confidently replied, maintaining a constant smile. The questionnaires and the whole interview were as follows –

Q. 1 – Could you share a bit about your early life, where you were born, how you grew up, and the experiences that shaped your passion for fitness and storytelling?

Ans. – I grew up in a family of six, though we were once seven before I lost my brother to sickle cell anemia. Later in life, I also lost my mother, who suffered brain damage. Because of these experiences, I became very conscious of health and decided early on that I didn’t want to live a life tied to sickness, because as a child, I spent a lot of time in hospitals, an environment I never liked.

All these experiences shaped me from the inside, and that’s how my passion for fitness began. I started working out, focusing on building myself, and when I began to see results, I wanted others to experience the same transformation. This was the point at which I crafted my fitness community to help people take control of their health and mindset.

Storytelling has always been part of me. Since childhood, I’ve had a natural gift for telling stories visually, from shooting short videos to creating movie-like narratives. My storytelling talent evolved with time into a passion for cinematography and sharing stories that move people toward growth and purpose.

Q. 2 – What was your educational journey like, and how did it influence your direction in media, cinematography, and fitness?

Ans. – My highest level of education is a National Diploma. I didn’t pursue studies later because by then, I realized the education system around me wasn’t designed to nurture my creative strengths. It was more like preparing to work for someone else rather than building something myself.

That realization stirred something in me — maybe resilience or resistance — but a deep drive to create my own path. I wanted to focus on creativity and develop my storytelling, cinematography, and fitness skills. That decision became the foundation for everything I’ve built since then. It taught me that education goes beyond classrooms; it’s about learning through doing, failing, and creating.

Q.3 – How did your career begin? Was a defining moment or challenge that pushed you to start building a platform and community across Africa?

Ans. – Everyone has a defining moment that pushes them to start building something meaningful, and for me, it was realizing that what I carried wasn’t just for me. I saw that I had something special to offer the world and that my work could influence and help others positively. Since then, everything I have done has left an impact.

The narrative of Africa, especially of Nigeria, from where I am, has often been shaped in ways that don’t truly reflect our strength, creativity, and potential. I wanted to change that narrative and bring a revolution, not just by telling stories but by empowering people to live those stories and become the best versions of themselves.

That’s what pushed me to start building a platform and a community across Africa: seeing people with so much potential who didn’t know how to express it. Through fitness and storytelling, I wanted to help them bring out that greatness and show the world what we’re capable of.

Q. 4 – Many people know you for your work today, but every journey has setbacks. What were some of the most challenging obstacles you faced initially, and how did you overcome them?

Ans. – One of my biggest challenges has always been the lack of resources. As much as I want to tell incredible stories, I also want to tell them well. And as much as I want to help people, I’ve learned that I also need to help myself first to build a strong foundation to sustain others.

Sometimes, I had the vision and ideas, but not the tools and the finances to bring them to life. That was frustrating. But over time, I’ve learned to stay patient, trust God, and keep moving forward with the little I have. With the right energy, support, and people around me, I’ve pushed through many tough times.

Another big obstacle was the mindset and belief system many of us grew up with, which limits how much we think we’re capable of. I had to unlearn that. Once I truly believed in what I carried within, things began to change, both in my work and in how I saw myself.

Q. 5 – Looking back now, what’s the one lesson from your personal journey from your roots to where you are today that you want young Africans to remember as they chase their dreams?

Ans. The most important thing I want young Africans to remember is never to forget who they are. Self-knowledge is everything. You need to know where you come from and understand that you manifest the dreams of those who came before you. You are someone’s answered prayer, their wildest dream brought to life.

As you chase your dreams, understand that you’re not only building for yourself; you’re laying a foundation for others to stand on. When you realize that, you build confidence in what you do and who you are.

Even when it feels like you’re not doing enough, every action shapes something profound, no matter how small. Finally, if you genuinely love something, go for it. Don’t hesitate, don’t wait for permission. Chase it with everything you have.

Closing Note:

I want to thank the Solsaga. In team sincerely for reaching out and allowing me to share my story. This conversation means a lot because it aligns with my purpose of using fitness, media, and storytelling as tools for African transformation. Collaborations like this can inspire a new generation to rise with confidence, creativity, and conviction. I’m genuinely looking forward to what we can build together.
