Managing multiple properties on Airbnb just got easier. In response to growing challenges faced by hosts juggling various tasks, Airbnb has launched its new Co-Host Network as part of its winter product release. The feature aims to simplify the hosting process by allowing property owners to connect with top-rated local co-hosts who can assist with everything from managing listings and guest communication to handling maintenance and cleaning .

The Co-Host Network acts like a LinkedIn or Fiverr for Airbnb hosts, providing a marketplace where hosts can hire professional co-hosts with a proven track record. To ensure quality, Airbnb has pre-screened the initial batch of co-hosts, requiring them to have a minimum rating of 4.8 stars and at least 10 hosted stays . So far, 10,000 co-hosts have been onboarded in 10 countries, including the U.S., UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, and Brazil.
“These local co-hosts can take over various responsibilities, such as pricing strategy, booking management, and onsite guest support,” said Judson Coplan, VP of Product Marketing at Airbnb, in a statement to TechCrunch. “One of the main requests we’ve received from hosts is the need for professional, reliable co-hosts to help manage their properties, allowing them to be more hands-off” .
Each co-host in the network has their own profile page, showcasing their skills, service offerings, and rates. Hosts can browse these profiles to find co-hosts that match their specific needs and budget .
The Co-Host Network builds on features introduced during Airbnb’s Summer 2023 release, which allowed hosts to add co-hosts and pay them a percentage of bookings. The new network further streamlines this process, making it easier for hosts to find high-quality co-hosts with local expertise .
Airbnb’s goal with this feature is to help hosts optimize their business operations while giving them the opportunity to earn passive income when they’re not actively managing their properties. Currently, hosts on the platform typically manage around seven properties each .
In addition to the Co-Host Network, Airbnb has rolled out several other updates for hosts, including pricing insights for similar properties in the area, customizable message templates for quicker guest replies, and a revamped earnings dashboard . For guests, new features include a welcome tour for first-time users, improved search filters, and expanded local payment options in countries like Vietnam, Denmark, and Norway .
As part of its broader vision, Airbnb is also exploring the use of AI to provide faster and more accurate community support. “AI can be a valuable tool for answering common questions around cancellations, policies, and bookings directly in the app,” added Coplan .
With these updates, Airbnb continues to enhance both the hosting and guest experience, cementing its role as a leader in the travel and property rental industry.
