LinkedIn is the New Tinder (But for Co-founders) – 1

Date:

It’s like an imagination to open and run a company individually, as it’s impossible to handle everything alone. From a founder’s task to a salesman for your company, it’s impossible to generate a promising output while indulging in everything. More than bridging the capital gap, finding a co-founder with the same ideology is vital. Nowadays, new solpreneurs or startups use LinkedIn as a new Tinder, where matches are accepted and rejected when finding the company’s co-founder.

Similarities between LinkedIn and Tinder are that both are digital platforms where people create their profiles and add their personal identities, followed by likes and preferences. Both platforms have a precise presentation and an active messaging process where people can thoroughly discuss. A sleek difference is that Tinder is for match-making, and LinkedIn is for professional future-making.

In this Blog, I will discuss how LinkedIn is the new Tinder, where you can discuss your ideas, share views on different topics, and schedule meet-ups with the people you choose who might be on your desired Co-Founder list.

How LinkedIn is now a New Tinder?

I am mentioning three reasons why LinkedIn became the new Tinder: in terms of finding co-founders, not for dating. Creativity has no boundaries, and people come up with new ideas daily. To bring those ideas into reality, we need a strong approach that will come with the help of a proactive co-founder.

  • Due to COVID-19 –

Due to the pandemic, several things got changed, and one thing that literally vanished was the coffee meetings with the people you want to be in your company. Yes, coffee meetings on CCDs have shrunk during the pandemic, and virtual meetings have occurred. We have already noticed how the internet was widely used during the pandemic and how people shifted their preferences over having a Co-Founder across countries, as everything that matters is the ideology that plays a vital part in finding the perfect one.

  • Game of Algorithm –

If you want to find a Co-Founder on LinkedIn, be proactive by sharing your insights, ideologies, and acknowledgements, followed by a vision. Tinder is all about sharing your interests, but on LinkedIn, you need to play smartly with the algorithm to come under notice with someone who shares your vision and mindset. You have to use the algorithm game’s help to reach your co-founder.

  • Pressure from the Investors –

As we have seen, people prefer to work alone after being the founder, but handling every task alone is not everyone’s cup of tea. Also, investors prefer investing in companies with co-founders because the tasks will align correctly. LinkedIn is the best platform for finding a co-founder because this platform works as a marketplace and an individual’s resume.

How do you find a Co-Founder on LinkedIn?

Like Tinder, here’s the procedure for finding a Co-Founder on LinkedIn. Everything is systematic and follows a proper method.

  • Your LinkedIn Profile –

Your LinkedIn profile acts as a dating bio, like that of Tinder, where your about us section includes your personal details, likes and dislikes, and preferences. Your profile’s bio will be a short glimpse of you and a detailed one that shows your preferences and interests. Your uploaded blogs and side projects will be curated as your favorites, and your co-founder will connect with your visions through your posts only.

  • Your Ongoing Activity –

The more active you are on LinkedIn, the more likely you are to get a Co-Founder, as your regular postings and activities will be termed your craving approach towards the goals. In Tinder, people swipe for a match; in LinkedIn, people watch your ongoing activities, which will be your first impression.

  • DM or connecting in person –

After witnessing your craving for the topic that you want to grow on professional terms, those who might be interested in your vision and come to your Co-Founder list will connect with you in person. He will send a direct message on LinkedIn to write his suggestions and an approach that fits your vision. In Tinder, people write “Hi” after the match; in LinkedIn, people send a direct message for a co-founder post.

  • Zoom Meetings as Virtual Dating –

Once you have had the detailed conversation, you can hold meetings with the people on your Co-Founders’ list to better acknowledge them. Instead of meeting at Coffee, you can meet them virtually to share similar interests and visions and grow the vision together.

In part 2, I will cover the Red Flags in LinkedIn Dating for the Co-Founder and how you can proceed with the exact match for your company with that particular person. Keep your excitement high for Part 2, and don’t forget to share your views on this Blog.
